Notting Hill Facts

Notting Hill is ALL about the music, from Calypso, sound systems mounted on trucks, lots of dancing, Soca, musical acts and the Steel Band Competition!

Paddington was filmed here! The antique store is based on a real life store in Notting Hill. There’s also lots of rows of pretty pastel coloured houses.

Food is a big part of carnival, with over 300 food stalls and Portobello Road market is famous for its fruit & veg, pastries, clothes and antiques.

The carnival started as a street party for the neighbourhood children to promote cultural unity, turning into the procession we know now!
